Madison House volunteers work throughout the school year with local, non-profit agencies in the Charlottesville area that serve low income families and people with housing needs.

Initiative reCOVER focuses on the research, design development, and fabrication of transitional disaster relief shelters.

Our goal is to stimulate interdisciplinary, innovative research and education related to aging issues. We support collaboration of U.Va. faculty across all disciplines to address critical issues affecting the aging population such as quality of life, health care, housing, and public policy.

The Institute on Violence and Survival studies the long term effects of violence and violent systems, publishes materials on related topics for the public and local service providers that work with victims of violence, offers workshops and conferences, and provides fellowships to victims of violence.

The International Adoption Clinic provides medical help and advice to prospective parents of internationally adopted children.

Juvenile Forensic Fact Sheets provide clear and concise summaries of recent research in juvenile forensic evaluation to the general public.

The 2003 Juvenile Records Information Sharing Manual seeks to advance responsible information sharing by addressing misconceptions, explaining the law, and making practical recommendations.

The Kidney Center provides free presentations to help educate the public about kidney disease and dialysis. To register for a class, please call (434) 924-1984.
