Walter N. Ridley Distinguished Lecture Series Office for Diversity and Equity

The Walter N. Ridley Distinguished Lecture Series, sponsored by the Curry School of Education, the Office of the Vice President and Chief Officer for Diversity and Equity and the Walter Ridley Scholarship Fund, honors Walter N. Ridley, the first African-American student to receive a degree from the University of Virginia. Ridley graduated in 1953 with a doctorate in education and had a distinguished career in higher education administration.

Wind Ensemble McIntire Department of Music

Directed by Bill Pease. The Wind Ensemble is a 45-member ensemble that features the most outstanding brass, woodwind, and percussion players at the University. The focus of this ensemble is to explore new literature as well as perform the masterworks of the wind band era. The wind ensemble also works with outstanding guest performers and conductors.

Broadcast by all of Virginia's public radio stations, With Good Reason is an eclectic blend of timely features and interviews designed to appeal to general audiences. Yoga for Children with Disabilities Kluge Children's Rehabilitation Center

Yoga is good for the body and the mind. This UVa Children's Hospital program adapts traditional yoga teachings to meet the special needs of children with disabilities. The approach is non-competitive and provides a foundation for building trust, self-confidence and a life-long form of exercise.
