"America in the 1930s" offers a substantial collection of film, print, audio media from the Depression-era U.S., as well as an archive of art objects, achitecture, and design from this historical period.

Annual Community Cancer Screening Days The Cancer Center

In cooperation with local doctors, the UVa Health System offers free cancer screenings to the general public each year. Skin cancer screening takes place in May, and prostate cancer screening is offered in September. The "Every Woman's Life" program provides free breast and cervical cancer screening to women who qualify based on income and age.

Benign Breast Disease Program Women's Place

The Benign Breast Disease Program offers an integrated approach to the evaluation and treatment of women with benign breast disease, such as breast nodules, fibrocystic breast disease and cyclical or constant breast pain. Care is coordinated utilizing specialists within the Women's Place- Midlife Health, the Cancer Center and the UVa Health System.

The Boosters Program places volunteers in classrooms to work with children from age four through sixth grade who need assistance with specific skills in a school setting.

This course provides new mothers with information on the benefits of breastfeeding and teaches participants how to breastfeed.

Bridging the Gap Madison House

Bridging the Gap (BTG) is a student-run program at the University of Virginia for refugee children resettled in the Charlottesville-Albemarle area. BTG helps refugee youth develop the tools needed to obtain greater opportunities in US society through mentoring and tutoring services.
