A team of psychologists, social workers, chaplains, and educators provides support to cancer patients and their family members. Services include counseling, educational programs, nutrition advice, and rehabilitation programs.

The Every Woman's Life program provides free breast and cervical cancer screening for women who qualify.

Named in honor of a breast cancer patient and located in the Cancer Center, Ramona's Room has head coverings, such as hats and scarves, for cancer patients who experience hair loss during treatment.

The APPLE conferences, conducted by the Center for Alcohol and Substance Education (CASE) at the University of Virginia, are the leading national training symposiums dedicated to substance abuse prevention and health promotion for student athletes and athletics department administrators.

The Center for Biomedical Ethics, since 1992, has provided nationally recognized programs and conferences for healthcare professionals.

This three day advanced program is intended to introduce different models of ethics programs, differing models of services that ethics programs provide, as well as enhance the skills of those institutional representatives already serving on ethics programs. In addition, it will supply the tools to participants to identify areas in the institution where ethics programs might consider enlarging their role.
